Knowing what is happening is important. Acting on it well is where the next challenge begins.
You may now have several priorities competing for attention. Decisions may have implications beyond the area they initially affect. Changes need to be made without losing momentum elsewhere. New information may challenge what looked obvious a few months earlier.
The Standard™ provides experienced commercial judgement, guidance and challenge while you work through those decisions.
It is not about you handing the business over. It is about having an objective commercial perspective alongside you while the business moves forward.

The Read™ establishes the commercial reality at a point in time. The Standard™ takes that understanding further.
Over six months, we continue to apply The Commercial Nervous System® as the business acts on what The Read™ uncovered.
That may mean exploring an existing issue in more depth, testing a significant decision, challenging priorities, responding to an emerging problem or applying the framework to a new opportunity.
The work is anchored in the findings and recommendations from The Read™. It is not rigid, instead it is designed to adapt as priorities change.
As decisions are made, priorities shift and new information emerges, we can adapt the focus without losing sight of the original commercial reality.

By the end of the engagement, the aim is not simply to have completed a list of actions. It is for the business to be making better commercial decisions because the quality of understanding, judgement and challenge has improved.
You should see:
clearer priorities and stronger decision-making
less reliance on assumption or urgency
better use of commercial evidence
greater clarity around where time, money and resource should be focused
stronger challenge around significant decisions
greater confidence inside the Leadership team to apply The Commercial Nervous System® without ongoing external support
The measure of The Standard™ is not how much activity it creates. It is whether the business is better equipped to make commercially sound decisions after the engagement than it was before.
